How to Be Prepared in a Winter Emergency

Emergencies happens, it's whether you're prepared for one of not that can make the situation better or worse. If you happen to experience an emergency during the winter months, being properly prepared could save your life or the life of a passenger. Having an emergency roadside kit will equip you with the essentials needed for survival. To make sure you put the right items in your kit we've compiled a list of must-haves.

  • Pack an extra set of warm winter clothes.
  • Road salt, sand, or kitty litter to help gain traction if you get stuck in the snow or ice.
  • A first aid kit with things like gauze pads, antiseptic cream, adhesive bandages, and scissors.

  • Reflective triangles or road flares alert other drivers of your presence.
  • A reliable pair of jumper cables for a quick jump start to your battery.
