To sell your car in North Carolina you'll need the original title certificate to transfer to the new owner (our dealership). You'll also need a completed title application.
Other documents include:
- An application for removal of lien from the certificate of title, if needed
- AÂ damage disclosure statement
- An odometer disclosure statement if your vehicle is less than 10 years old
Our dealership can provide you with a Bill of Sale document. It's recommended to keep for your records, although not required, and includes the buyer's name and address, sale date, sale price and payment method.
If you've misplaced your original title document, you can apply for another one at the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles (using Form MRV-4). This process can take at least 15 days, so it's best to get all your documents ready with plenty of time to spare.
